Hurwitz Indexing was founded by Shoshana Hurwitz to provide publishers and individuals with fast, accurate indexing and editorial services.

Indexing Skills

My prior career in librarianship and experience with many varied computer programs have provided a strong ability to organize information for successful retrieval. This led naturally to indexing. My lifelong passion for books and learning also provides a strong background in many areas.

Publishing Skills

Through my journalism degree, library work and positions at a weekly newspaper and a quarterly magazine, I have gained skills in copyediting, proofreading, transcription and Internet research. I have an excellent eye for detail and am a perfectionist when it comes to working with written material. In addition, in my free time I volunteer my services for newsletters of non-profit organizations, write CD and book reviews for the Association of Jewish Libraries as well as a column on indexing for the website of the freelance organization Elephant, and have been published in The Indexer, an international quarterly indexing journal. My indexing work has improved these skills as well as my organizational and writing skills.
